I dropped the steering column and pulled the dash to replace the heater core. I put it back together and it wont start. Key turns, accessories work but it wont crank. I took it apart and everything except the ignition /shifter interlock cable looks good. This cable has a housing on it that has broken. Will this keep it from starting? Or does this just allow the shifter to be moved from park when the key is turned which it still does?

Hello,

Is your security light on the dash flashing?
It sounds like you might have triggered the immobilizer while you were working on the steering column.
Without resetting the immobilizer you won't be able to start the vehicle.

Try this to reset the system:
On the key fob, hold down the panic button for two seconds.
Close all door and use the key to lock and unlock the driver side door.
That typically resets the immobilizer.

You can also try disconnecting the negative battery cable and wait one minute and reconnect.
