I was going down the road and out of nowhere my car cut off. Won’t start back. Doesn’t even try to. Nothing works. Key stuck in ignition. Burnt smell under hood but belt seems okay from what I can see.

I assume you have no electrical power, correct? I have seen a battery short out internally and cause this issue. First, I would use gloves and safety goggles to check the battery connection and if loose or corroded I would clean it if you smell sulfur do not do anything but remove the battery and get a new one.

Here are two guides to help you and I have included more instructions for your car in the images below:

and

Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

So, we replaced the battery. Got power back but when I try to start it now all the power cuts out. Like twice I heard like a slight hum but nothing really.

This sounds like the positive battery cable is bad or the system main grounds are not connected/loose/bad connection. I would check the ground battery cable to the engine block and to the chassis. Also let's lift the hood to see if the alternator is okay, check to see if the alternator is warm or hot. Can you please upload some images for the parts in question so I can see them? Can you tell where the smell is coming from?
