It sounds like you need a new battery, so the engine cranks over and then stops? Do you hear a ratcheting sound? We need more information to help you. Please upload a video in your response of any problems so we can see.

Here is how to remove the battery so you can have it tested:

This guide can help out as well:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-car-battery

Also, this video is for an engine that does not crank over:

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Bummer, it sounds like the engine has no compression. Can you tell me what engine you have and how many miles are on it? To confirm the compression issue lets go over this guide:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-engine-compression

and

Thank for the video, it helps. Please go over these guides and get back to us.

So, this engine has a timing chain which doesn't break very often. Any check engine light on or overheating while the engine was still running?

Okay, these cods are telling us the engine has over heated and that the thermostat needs to be replaced but this will not keep the engine from starting cold. I would head out to the auto parts store and rent a compression gauge for cheap or free and do the test.
