I got it stared.

I run a hot direct wire to the PCM.
I guess there was a shortage in the hot wire somewhere.

If your getting no spark to coil , then cps sensor is bad, if you are getting spark
Threw coil and dist. To plugs then your cam timing has jumped.

What have you checked so far other than you have no spark?
Fuel pump running?
Fuel pressure?
Injector pulse?
Please advise.

Your going to have to check fuel pressure and injector pulse so we can narrow this down. Can you hear the fuel pump running?

To check an ordinary test light and connect it to the terminals of any injector connector. Have someone crank the engine as you watch the test light. You're looking for the light to "blink" which indicates an injector. No blinky/no pulsey.

Hi. I have a 94 Mustang GT. I drove into a big dip along the side of the road while parking. It was a pretty hard hit. No problems right after the hit. As days passed the engine would crank but it would not fire. It could take a few minutes to fire. Then it was about 10 minutes of cranking before it would fire. Once started it would run great, no miss or anything. Now it won't fire at all. There is no spark while cranking. I changed the ICM, coil, cap and rotor. The wires and plugs are newer. There is fuel pressure. I checked connections. I have the right voltage while cranking. I can't figure out why it won't fire. There is voltage at coil while cranking. What else could be the problem. I have never had a problem with the car prior. Thanks

You said no spark-if the pick-up coil is defective you won't get spark-also I suggest you check the fuel pressure if its within specs-

When you say you have power at coil all the time. One side of the coil should be power the other side should flash when cranking if it does the pick up and module should be okay i believe the t/y wire at the coil should flash when tested with a test light. Also possible ccrm located in passenger front fender area under inside fender well could be going bad.

I pulled plug out of #2 cylinder and turned engine over and a ton of gas shot out of the cylinder. The plug was saturated in gas.

Besides checking the plug and wires, distributor, is their any more "scientific" way to expedite finding out why cylinder isn't firing?

I can drive the car, but get's very poor gas mileage and the "Check Engine" light is on continuously and even flashes if I sit at a stop light for an extended period of time.

I can only assume your car is fuel injected. Remove the fuel injector from the intake manifold, you will probably have to remove them all at once as each injector will need to remain attached to the fuel rail or pipe/plumbing system. (caution, gasoline is very flammable) without cranking the car, cycle the igniton switch on and off 2-3 times, this will allow the fuel pump to pressurize the system. You should then be able to spot the injector that has failed/leaked. You can replace the entire set, or just the suspected injector. Lube the O-ring to ease installation and help sealing.

If you are getting spark from the coil center tower and not at the sparkplug ends -replace the rotor and distributor cap it has to make it thru there to get to the plugs.

Hi lately on 94 mustang Gt 5.0 5 speed the car has been killing itslelf for no apparent reason just one second it would running perfect very next second no warning lights sputtering nothing just engine is dead, for intstance yesterday i took it on a test drive on the highway running about 70mph engine completely dies on me, tired popping the clutch atleast 5 times wouldnt take nothing got pulled over to side of road sat there 2 minutes started right up and act like it was out of gas when i tried to start it up and would take a while to start back up sometimes as long as 20 minutes or 3 hours. I took ignition module off and coil and had tested both tested good, i cleaned the inside contacts and rotar before i took iit on this test drive noticed a much better response. Iam leaning on it towards being my fuel pump going bad because it does wine some while just idling and wouldnt a sudden loss of fuel pressure cause a complete dead like descibed, Thank you very much

do a fuel pressure test the next time it dies and wont start back up.

Or

try to get it to start with starting fluid in a spray can.
(of course it will stumble and die again after a few seconds if the fuel system is the problem)

My car will not start. it turns over very slow as if the battery is dead. tried jumping no good. tried new battery no good. Tried new starter no good. Took the starter out powered up spun great. reinstalled and it would barely turn over. When i went to tap on it with a hammer and accidently touched the starter housing to the frame of the car, sparks started flying????????????

Do below to determine if its a fuel or spark problem

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem,Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if so, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

Ok I need you to check something first before jumping to the computer. Have you checked fuse number 15 in the fuse box. Then the EEC fuse in the under hood fuse panel. The PCM relay this is in the front corner of the engine bay below the horns. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
