Make clicking noise when on gas pedal, only while in Drive. The clicking noise got faster and louder and the van reached 5,000 RPMs, struggling to go up a hill. Then the van shuts off and it will not turn over now.

Loud clicking then low power and finally shutting down sounds a lot like either a connecting rod or crankshaft internal failure. That would also be why it won't turn over now. The first thing to do would be to take a wrench and try to turn the engine over at least two full turns. If it won't move or only turns say one half turn then stops you have your answer, the engine would need to be replaced.
