When transmission is shifted into drive the car hesitates then jumps forward and shuts off

When you select the drive or reverse the car does not move then suddenly it will jump forward and cut out. Also if it do start and driving the two front wheels locks off in traffic which is very dangerous.

This sounds like the filter is clogged in the transmission.

When was the last time you change the fluid?
