car will roll, but won't start

the car runs fine when I can get it started, but when you shut it off it cranks, but won't start. let it sit for a while or jar the car (like jump on the bumper) and it starts right up and runs like a champ. Could this be a fuel filter problem, or something else?

When it won't start, check to see if you are getting spark and fuel to the engine. Let me know what you find.
