Shut off while driving engine will not crank or start?

Was going down the road and shut off and wouldn't start back up. It made a funny sound the last few times I had cranked it before it shut off the last time.

Hi,

When you try starting it, do you hear the starter make any noise? The confusing part for me is it stalled and now the starter won't engage.

I attached the wiring schematic below for the starter circuit. On the starter itself, there will be a smaller gauge light green wire. That is the trigger wire. It has no power until the key is in the start position. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check if that wire gets voltage. If it doesn't, see try starting it in neutral. If it does get power, suspect the starter has failed.
