Gas goes to engine turns over won't. Start, new parts almost completely, carburetor no gas past injection intake connection, it fires if I put gas into intake, has spark.

Turns over fast, bought it this way, sometimes won't turn over, started a little first day I added gas, seems to have new timing belt, injector plugs, many parts, backfire if I put gas in intake not sure reason, does start then a second,

The original owner gave up, but they did a lot of work, it's simple but complicated. Computer was out of dash possible they checked it, timing is not adjustable but seems fast, even shakes car if I turn over a lot.

Hi,

Each fuel injector will have two wires to it. Each injector will have a solid red and then one of a different color. With the key in the run position, check to see if there is power at the red wires.

Let me know the results.

Take care,

joe

Injectors all have power and are working, car started and ran good then won't start, seems flooded and sparkplugs are new but maybe fouled plugs trying to start. Can you help me?

Hi,

Okay, we need to determine what is preventing it from starting by narrowing it down. In this case, it is either fuel or spark.

When it refuses to start, see if it will restart if you use starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know it is fuel related. If there is no change, I need you to check for spark at the spark plugs.

Here is a link that explains how to check:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-for-ignition-spark

We need to determine which is failing. If this is only happening when the engine is warm, it could be a failing crankshaft position sensor.

Let me know.

No, it won't start so it's not warm, seems like gas pressure problem, like it's flooding, the carburetor spits and it started and ran good after I replaced sensors, and all new cables spark plugs and it wants to start, is there a gas pressure regulator? Trust me I checked everything I'm mechanical and computer technical, it has new sensors for. Crankshaft also.

Hi,

You could check the fuel pressure regulator. It is located on the end of the fuel rail. I found a couple of pics to help locate it.

Also, the first pic provides the OEM part number. The only problem is they are discontinued, so you may have to find an aftermarket one.

Make sure the vacuum hose to it is in good condition. Disconnect it and confirm there is no fuel being drawn into the vacuum hose.

Let me know.

Okay, I'm going to replace the fuel regulator and I'm already far along with checking everything, I need one crankshaft sensor and one fuel injector is open but probably the fuel regulator will correct a few things. Thank you, I may have a few questions I appreciate anything you can do to help me.

Hi,

Before replacing it, see if there is any evidence it may be faulty. Also, when you say you need a crankshaft position sensor, if you have confirmed it, that will prevent ignition spark to the plugs.

Let me know.

I live in Mexico Baja Cali. Sur Mexico tools are hard to find and I know what to replace I only contacted you hoping a positive simple way to fix without spending money, I plan to replace all computer parts, the car is mint condition except the tune-up of tech parts, I will have questions for you.I must replace with proper battery now because it wants to start and not enough volts are available, I fixed many things and it ran two hours other night, it is an odd problem I never seen this, I had other Nissan maxima.

Hi,

After you recharge the battery, make sure it is being charged by the alternator. Here is a link that explains how to check. You only need a multimeter or voltmeter.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-alternator

If the alternator isn't keeping up with demand, that could be the entire problem.

Let me know.
