My car seems to be overheating, though I see no evidence of it on the temperature gauge. It is not hot outside in the least, quite cold.
The issue seemed to start when my check engine light came on.
I took it to a repair place, and they used a code reader.
I was told it had to do only with the manual setting on the transmission, and if I did not use this, it would be fine.
The light then stayed on for several months, and I finally took it to another repair shop, where they erased the code, and it has not been on since (about 3 weeks) .
However it is extremely hot in the car. putting a thermometer in here a few days ago, it was over 100 degrees .
Also the air conditioner compressor will hardly come on to cool it off.
Now in the last day or so, the car seems like it is having a difficult time starting.
I am wondering what the problem actually is , and what might be the solution?

Hi,

That is a tough one. Is there heat coming through the vents or defrost? Also, do you know the actual code that was eventually erased?

I need you to check for heat coming through the vents. If the blend air door is stuck, you are likely getting heat at all times. That would explain why the AC isn't working properly. The blend door is what determines what air temperature enters the vehicle.

If the engine temp is staying normal, it isn't overheating.

Check for heat from the vents and let me know what you find. Also, let me know what the outside temps are where you're located.

Take care,
Joe
