Car turns off everytime I stop

Every time I approach a stop sign or a stop light my car turns off. When I first drive it for like the first hour or so the car will drive normally. But afterwards it begins to turn off every single time it comes to a stop. I do not know if this is related, but it also stops accelerating when it reaches sixty miles per hour. It will still rev up but it wont accelerate.
