Bought this GTS and putting it in first gear the car turns off unless you keep you foot on the gas. Went to the mechanic and they said engine transmission is good. Need to replace spark plugs and wires. Went to buy them from Advanced put them car did not turn on. Change the battery still put old cables back. Car turns on and still put in first gear still turns off.

I am not understanding everything you did, but if you removed a battery cable, the engine computer will have lost its memory. Most things will be relearned automatically, except "minimum throttle. Until that is relearned, the engine may not start unless you hold the accelerator pedal down 1/4", you will not get the nice idle flare-up to 1500 rpm at start-up, and it will tend to stall at stop signs. To meet the conditions for minimum throttle to be relearned, drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the pedals.
