car tempereture will go up to high then down to mid range.

the car over heated a few days ago because of bad water pump. water pump was replace but know the issue is the temp gauge will go high then go back to mid. I also notice my lights will be brighter when the temperature goes up then dim when it goes down. the thermostat also replace. no engine oil and coolant mixing the radiator or engine.

Sounds like the alternator may be over charging, the lights going bright then dim is a sign the peak voltage is going way to high, the voltage reg in the alternator may be faulty, get the charge rate checked first,

thanks for the response. just check the voltage peak and it 17.8 I will check the alternator and see if there is any issue in the alternator

At that voltage the voltage regulator is not working.
