Car starts but sputters and shuts off when out in drive and reverse?

Changed the spark plugs thinking it could be that, but the issue persists.

Hi,

When it starts, will it continue running if you don't shift it to drive or reverse? When it stalls, do you ever notice any gray smoke from the exhaust? If you hold your foot slightly on the throttle, can you keep it running?
