After driving thirty minutes or more the car stops when slowing down or putting on the brakes. Also stops when putting in reverse after it has been driven for over thirty minutes. Someone says the torque converter, but a dealer wants to replace the whole transmission.

Yes the transmission in these cars had big problems and the torque converter is one of them. They want to do the transmission becasue when the converter falls apart it spreads metal throughout. I would do the radiator as well becasue it has the fluid cooler that can also hold metal shavings.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
