If I stop in traffic, engine revs and then the engine shuts off

Hi there, my car runs fine in the begin after some time it starts revving when changing gear and after that if I stop in traffic, it revs and then the engine stops. When I try to restart it doesn't start quickly as usual after couple of tries it behaves normally. Engine lights turns on and turns off after some days on its own. Please help.

Hi,

Based on the description, it could be a few different things. Since the check engine light comes on, I recommend having the computer scanned. That will identify if there are diagnostic trouble codes are stored.

I realize most people don't own a scan tool, but oftentimes, a parts store will do it free of charge.

The idea that it stalls when this happens leads me to think it could be fuel related. The fuel pressure can be checked on the vehicle to confirm it's within the manufacturer's specifications.
