Shut off while driving?

Driving home one night on the interstate when all of a sudden, my car quit like it lost compression, then shut off but at the same time it spewed water everywhere. I've been reading up on it is that a crankshaft position sensor or is there more wrong?

It sounds like the engine might have had an internal problem but to be sure can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the engine cranking over? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response.
