Car overheated a while back about two years ago. Was moving it only for street sweeping and stoped during Covid-19 shutdown when there was so sweeper service. Started the car back up again and battery was drained so we took it to charge. Once charged put it back into the car and while it turns on, it shuts off after a bit or when pressing on the gas pedal.

Hi,

To be honest, it sounds like the battery is too weak or the alternator isn't charging and the battery can't maintain the electrical needs.

What I suggest is this: First, make sure the battery is charged and then check the alternator output. It is easy to do. Here is a link that explains how to do i:

Since it seems like an electrical issue, lets start at this point and see what we find.

Let me know the results or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
