Car starts for two seconds then shuts off

So my car gave out on me a few weeks ago. My mechanic thought it was the fuel pump so we changed it and still did the same. Can some one please help me?

Starts and runs for two seconds sounds like the fuel pump is not being turned on after the initial prime. That could be caused by the ECM not seeing an rpm change once the engine initially fires. The immobilizer circuit can also act that way if it has one.
Which country was this car built for? That might help in looking for service information.
