1. My car was just doing fine until four days ago. It started to struggle at hilly or steep areas. It would stop even when put in another gear. It won't rev up at all. It won't go forward even in the first gear.

2. Now it is starting but it won't rev up beyond 1,000 rpm's even when you flatten the fuel pedal (accelerator). It just come up to 1,000 rpm'a and then drops back. What could be the problem? Please help as I need to be on the road.
Regards,

Good morning,

The first thing I would have checked is the catalytic converter. If it is clogged, the engine cannot breathe and this is the result.

The next possibility is fuel pressure. Low fuel pressure will not provide sufficient fuel to the engine for proper operation.

The last thing to check is compression. If the timing chain is loose or has possibly jumped time, this could also be the result.

Check these items to see what area is the failure.
