Car stalls sometimes during idling

I test drove a used Jazz yesterday and noticed that on two to three occasions the engine stalled when I was stopped and idling. Also felt when changing gears that the gear just slipped into the gear rather than being a positive movement.

check clutch adjustment or for a weak hydraulic system for clutch, try cleaning throttle plate on both sides and IAC hole with choke cleaner for other. if it continues check fuel pressure with a gauge in US auto parts rent it. See link.

Thanks HMAC300. Is that all there is to it or could it be something more complex? I obviously do not want to buy a car where I have to spend on major repairs.

best thing to do here is if you are considering purchase is to have a mechanic check it over. It could be more like major repair but he can give you a pretty good idea.
