Hi Jerry,
What you described sounds like a faulty crankshaft position sensor. When they begin to fail, often times they are adversely affected by heat. Do me a favor. Take a look through this link and let me know if anything seems to mirror what you are experiencing.

If you feel there are similarities, here is what I need you to do. When it stalls and won't restart, we need to check for spark to the plugs. Here is a link that explains how it's done:

If your vehicle has a tachometer, rather than checking for spark, see if the tachometer moves a little when cranking. If it doesn't, the sensor would be my first suspect. Here is a link that explains how in general to replace one:
