Car stalls out after a short drive

Car stalls out a few miles down the road. Will start up after a few minutes and back on the road again with no problem until next time. The fuel pump and filter have been replaced recently but still, have the same problem.

Please advise!

Hi Jerry,

What you described sounds like a faulty crankshaft position sensor. When they begin to fail, often times they are adversely affected by heat. Do me a favor. Take a look through this link and let me know if anything seems to mirror what you are experiencing.

If you feel there are similarities, here is what I need you to do. When it stalls and won't restart, we need to check for spark to the plugs. Here is a link that explains how it's done:

If your vehicle has a tachometer, rather than checking for spark, see if the tachometer moves a little when cranking. If it doesn't, the sensor would be my first suspect. Here is a link that explains how in general to replace one:
