Hi I have a 2007 pontaic vibe. My check engine light came on and the code po453 pressure sensor cane in. I had that and the purge valve replaced. The light came back on with new codes po171, p0441,p0455. The car runs fine until I fill it with gas. It will not start unless I keep my foot on the gas for 30-45 sec. No one can seem to tell me what this is for sure and I don't want to spend a small fortune on parts and labor that aren't needed. Please help!

It sounds like fuel is getting into the EVAP system. On a fuel injected engine, when you put the pedal to the floor, you basically shut down fuel to the engine. My belief is that the engine is flooding with fuel via the EVAP. Tell me, do you fill the tank when this happens? Do you, by chance, top off the tank (slightly overfill)?

It doesn't matter if I fill it or just add gas. I think it has something to do with having the gas cap off. I used to overfill until this problem started and was told that was bad. I did it with my old car with no issue. According to my research I'm thinking it's the vent valve attached to the charcoal canister or the pcm. What do u think?

I feel it has to do with fuel being vented to the canister. Most likely, the vent isn't allowing air to exit the tank when you refuel. As a result, it makes its way to the engine that way. And yes, when the pump clicks off, the tank is full and no more should be added.

Sorry, I wanted to add that the purge solenoid could also be causing the problem.
