when I turn heater fan on, engine will stall. when i turn fan off car will restart.

This is an interesting one. When you turn on the fan, is the defroster on or AC? Also, when this happens, are you able to keep the car running by pressing the gas?
I'm trying to determine if it is a grounding issue or the added load from AC/Defroster causing it. If that is the case, it could be a simple idle air control valve.
