I haven't drive my car listed above in about 7 months. It usually starts up right away even after storing it. It started up, but after a few minutes of driving, it started to sputter badly. I thought the fuel was stale , so I put some Seafoam in a fresh tank of gas and drove it a bit. it drove okay, then started sputtering again. I changed the King fuel filter incase it was clogged. Now the car won't turn over. This is the style filter I replaced. What's your input Please?

Hi,

Will it start if you use starting fluid? If it no longer starts since the filter was replaced, it sounds like a fuel-related issue. Since the filter is translucent, can you see fuel entering it? Also, if you remove one of the spark plugs, is it wet?

Let me know if it starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we will know it is a fuel-related issue.

Take care,

Joe

Fuel entered the filter, but only half way up the glass. 2 of the spark plugs had some fuel on them. I cleaned them off. I’m going to buy some starter fluid and see what happens.

Hi Steve,

Let me know if it does start with the starting fluid. If a couple of plugs were wet with fuel, it sounds like you may have lost spark. Check that as well.

Let me know what you find.
