When you say it will not crank, that means it will not even turn over when you are trying to start it correct? It is a term that gets confused a lot and people sometimes mean it will crank over but not actually start.
If the engine will not even crank over, do you hear a click or anything when trying to start the engine?
We need to try and turn the engine over by hand just to make sure it is not locked up. The fact that it shut off while driving and now will not turn over makes me concerned it is locked up so we need to put a wrench on the crank pulley bolt and make sure it turns over.

Then we need to check the voltage at the starter while cranking and see what we have on both wires.

Below is the wiring diagram that will help with this as well. You should have 12 volts on both wires when cranking the engine.
