Hi,
|Is the check engine light staying on or flashing when the engine is running? I'm asking because what you described can be the result of many things. If the light stays on, I need you to have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. They will point us in the right direction.

I realize most people don't own a scan tool, but oftentimes a parts store will do it free of charge or lend you a scanner.
Let me know if you notice any strange smells, smoke, sounds, or anything you can think of that may help me narrow things down.
