When the coolant sensor plugged into the car it misfires and stalls?

Car rpm runs good when coolant temperature sensor plugged disconnected. But when coolant temperature sensor connected car misfire and stall. I have already replaced the coolant temperature sensor. What could be the cause of the problem? What needs to be checked next?
