If that "Supplier number" is 26777, that radio is built by Alpine. That would explain why I don't have a service manual for it. Alpine will not allow the authorized service centers to sell us parts or service manuals for their oem radios built for Toyota and Chrysler.
The first thing to do is check the fuse for the memory circuit. That is always tied into some other circuit that is always live. On most Chrysler models that is the "Interior lights" fuse. Alternatively, you can check for 12 volts on the two power wires in the gray radio plug. A test light will be more accurate for this than a digital voltmeter. The first wire should have 12 volts all the time. If that is missing, the symptoms will vary depending on the radio model. Some will be totally dead. Some will display the time but won't turn on. Some work just fine but the clock goes back to 12:00 each time it is turned on.
If the problem appears to be inside the radio, broken solder connections on the power relay is one thing I've run into. Those usually cause intermittent problems for a few weeks.
If you need to find a different radio, look for a CD/cassette combo radio. Those will have supplier number 28046. They're built by Mitsubishi and are extremely high quality. You do have to be concerned with the two mounting ears as they are very different than most other Chrysler radios. You need one with that oddball ear on the left side.
