Speedometer not reading and gears not changing properly

My car's fielder has a problem of speedometer not reading and the gears are not changing accordingly. The moment it stopped working the engine check light came and the park brake light came on the dash board.

That sounds like either the speed sensor or its wiring has failed. Scan it with a good scan tool to get the code and see what it is. Then proceed from there.
