Hello,

We have a great guide regarding experiencing low power:

At your mileage I would check, clean, or replace the following things:

1) Engine air filter

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-car-air-filter

2) Carbon build-up at throttle body

3) Replace spark plugs

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-tune-up-a-car-engine

4) Fuel system cleaning/injector cleaner

If you have any DTCs in the computer, we will need to take care of that first to help the car. Let us know what you decide to do, and if we can help!

Thanks,
William

Hello,

It depends on what you mean by "high performance". Most Asian manufacturers use iridium plugs, which are considered high performance. For your Toyota that would be fine. However, I would not trust a spark plug that deviates from the OE recommended gap, this raises the possibility of having issues due to the amount of computer intelligence of cars nowadays. I always stick with the OE specified gap and spark plug type.

Hi,

NGK is a good brand, but if you can get and afford it, I would find Denso double platinum or iridium spark plugs. Denso is the OE manufacturer of these plugs.

Thanks,
William
