When driving above forty miles per hour I have no problems, when sitting in traffic car overheats. When I turn the heat on to press the gas it stops overheating. So basically it only overheats when sitting in traffic. I replaced new fan, replaced thermostat. Help please and thank you.

Hello,

This could be a problem with your vehicle's cooling fan control module. This module does just what it's name implies, it controls your engine's cooling fan. It is has failed, then your engine's cooling fans will not come on when at idle sitting in traffic. I have included in the diagrams below a step by step procedure for removing and installing the cooling fan control module. Please go through it and let us know what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Hey guys, my fan modulator came yesterday I should be able to throw it in this week. I have a question the two front ABS sensors when I pulled them out to check them they have a lot of axle grease on the bottom of them does that mean my bearings have burst.

Hello again,

No. They are packed with grease, but over time the grease will get slung out eventually.

Thanks,
Alex

My car is over heating and cutting off. The tank that holds the antifreeze was replaced a few days ago. All the hoses were checked and are intact. I'd noticed antifreeze and smoke coming out of the tail pipes and the car is constantly running hot and over heating. Could you please tell me what's wrong with my car?

I had the same problem with mine. I took it to Jaguar and told them to replace the thermostat. They called my wife and told her it was the water pump R/R the water pump $979.00. She pick the car up at the dealer 79 mile away by the time she got home it over heated. I took back the next day let over heat on them in the parking lot. This time they replaced the thermostat for free and gave me the money back for the new water pump. Long story short replace the thermostat.
