Car is overheating and fans not working?

The car is overheating and the fans are not working. Replaced temp sensor and fan relays. Could it be bad thermostat?

Yes, it could when the engine is overheating do you hear a thumping noise? This is a sure sign the thermostat is stuck closed. Here are two generic guides to help with the thermostat location and how to change it out in the diagrams below:
