car overheated and stopped

it over heated and stopped. so the next day i tried starting it and it did so i immediately. took the radiator cap off to check the fluid and it stated squirting out so i turned the engine off and now it will not start. i replaced the water pump recently, but not timing belt. i noticed when the engine stopped water was coming out my water pump.

have it pressure checked for leaks may be a head gasket problem pressurizing it if it came out water pump you may need another.

Subaru's hate overheating. From the description I would say you have at least one failed head gasket. The coolant shooting out of a cold engine is a dead give away. Should not be any pressure in there until the engine gets up to operating temperature. As for the water coming out of the pump. The pressure from the blown head gasket likely damaged the seals in it.
