Yesterday my car overheated due to no coolant. I had it towed home, added Coolant and it started right up. I went to start the car this morning and there was no power at all. Went to jump the car. As soon as the cables were attached the car ding instantly started then was able to start right up. I thought it was the end, but when I turned it off everything instantly went dead again (no lights, chimes, etc).

How are the terminals? Are the cables and terminals clean and tight?

The negative terminal has exposed wires. It should be replaced. They don’t have corrosion.

If the wires are exposed and strands are broken then you should replace the cable.
