It seems what I have my air conditioning on my engine seems to feel like it's burning coolant temperature gauges are fine, but I smell like a coolant smell. I want to know why it's running so hot.

Hi,

When the A/C is on, the A/C condenser fan turns on to keep the engine and A/C cool. The condenser is located directly in front of the radiator. I'm wondering if the fan is drawing the odor into the engine compartment and then eventually to you.

Also, are you actually losing coolant? Have you ever noticed excessive white smoke from the exhaust?

If you haven't already, check to see if there are any indicators of a coolant leak around the radiator and radiator hoses.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

If you don't have to add coolant, let me know. If you do, let me know how much and how often.

Take care,

joe
