Car occasionally surges when brake is applied

On two occasions in the past two months, the car will surge forward when I am putting on the brake to stop.

This can happen when the power brake booster is leaking internally. But we should start by scanning the computer for codes even if the check engine light is not on. Here is a guide to show you how.
