Prior owner's son over heated engine and burned a whole in number 2 piston ring head. Both center pistons were replaced, cylinder head was resurfaced and new gaskets were installed. Car cranks but won't start. Compression is low 50-60.

Hello,

If that is the compression on all cylinders then the engine has major internal damage and you should consider replacing it. In the diagrams down below I have included the specs for the engine from the vehicle manufacturer. Compression should be in between 8 bar [116 PSI] to 12 bar [174 PSI]. Please go through this guide and let us know what you decide to do. We can help with instructions for an engine swap or a complete engine rebuild.

Thanks,
Alex
