Engine not starting

Bought this car and it was running hot. I started checking the fuses, but I did not take the battery cable off first. So now the alarm system has my car to where it will not start.

As far as testing fuses, you never remove a battery cable for that. You test it with the key on with a test light. I attached another guide below.
