EVEN A BRAND NEW BATTERY RIGHT OFF THE SHELF CAN BE BAD!
NORMALLY A UNDERCHARGED BATTERY CANNOT BE TESTED CORRECTLY, HENCE, CHARGE IT BEFORE YOU TAKE IT IN.....SOME AUTO PARTS STORES WILL CHARGE IT AND TEST IT FOR FREE
THE PART WHERE YOU SAID IT WAS "JUMPED"....AND NOTHING, CAUGHT MY EYE
IF YOU HAVE CROSSED THE JUMPERS, YOU MAY HAVE BLOWN A FUSE OR FUSIBLE LINK........A REALLY BAD CONNECTION WILL ALSO EXHIBIT NO POWER TO NUTHIN'
I COULD NOT FIND YOUR RIG IN "MITCHELL I", OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE SENT YOU A DIAGRAM OF THE STARTING SYSTEM, WHICH MIGHT SHOW THE LOCATIONS OF THESE COMPONENTS.....MAYBE Wrenchtech CAN GET YOU ONE FROM ANOTHER REPAIR SITE
SOMETHING IN MY ANSWER IN THIS LINK MIGHT POSSIBLY HELP YOU

SINCE YOU SAID THIS HAS NOT BEEN GOING WELL FOR A WHILE, IF MR. BATTERY OR A BAD CONNECTION IS NOT THE PROBLEM, SOME AUTO PARTS STORES WILL TEST YOUR ALTERNATOR WHILE STILL ON THE VEHICLE, AND CAN SEE IF THE STARTER'S AMP DRAW IS IRREGULAR....STILL ON THE VEHICLE
IF BOTH THE STARTER AND ALTERNATOR ARE ORIGINAL, THEY HAVE BEEN SERVING YOU FOR MANY YEARS, IF YOUR RIG IS A "KEEPER", IT MIGHT BE OVERLY GOOD PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TO REPLACE THEM IF/ WHEN YOU ARE ABLE TO......EVENTUALLY, THEY WILL FAIL....WHERE WILL YOU BE?
IT DON'T HURT TO BABY YOUR BABY.....MY TWO ARE 36 AND 67 YEARS YOUNG....BOTH ARE DAILY DRIVERS......I USE REPAIR MANUAL MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES AS A GUIDELINE, NORMALLY I DO THE SUGGESTIONS WELL BEFORE THE BOOKS RECOMMEND......I JUST DON'T SEE ME GETTING ANOTHER JEEP, WHEN MINE STILL WORK SO WELL
LET US KNOW WHAT YOU FIGGER OUT!
