Car making weird noise

When the engine is on, the car is making weird noises. Sounds like the noise is coming out of the AC. When I turn the AC on, the sound is not as bad, but the AC smells like chemicals.

Yeah, it is coming from the dash area. It’s sounds like a super loud humming. Since yesterday it’s been smoking so I checked under the hood and the smoke is coming from a band (i circled it in the picture).

The component you circled is the AC compressor. If the belt is smoking from there, the clutch must have locked up or the belt is really loose.

First, check to make sure the belt it tight. If it is, then I suspect the compressor itself is going bad or the compressor clutch. If you could upload the sound you hear, I would better be able to tell.

I have a feeling what you smell is the belt burning.
