Car loses engine power?

I noticed this quite a while ago but i never thought anything of it until just recently.

When accelerating, if i am in second gear by the time i hit 35 mph (which is almost always unless i am really trying to move), I get a non-responsive feel from the engine. I try to keep the car around 2,000-2,500 rpm's if i am driving normally (highway entrance ramp acceleration varies). I get a lot of pull and quite a bit of response (sound) from the engine before and after this dip in power. Once I reach 35 mph, I get neither of these. The sound is noticeably quieter and I typically have to rev it up to 3,000 to get any sort of capable movement through the 35-45 mph range. If I don't increase the revs, it takes upwards of five to eight seconds for it to reach 45, but if i do increase the revs, it only takes a couple seconds to reach 45. While at 3,000 rpm's, once I hit 45 mph the power is immediately re-applied to the engine, jerking the car, and anything inside the car, backwards due to the immediate power increase.

I don't have any check engine lights being thrown at all, if this helps.

Interstate driving/entrance ramp is perfectly fine. I have to accelerate harder, typically around 3,000 to 3,500 rpm's, and it doesn't have the dip in power at all. Its just in that 1,500 to 2,0500 rpm range, in second gear, and in between 35-45 mph. If I can think of anything else to help make this easier on yall I will add it

If anyone can help me with this issue id be extremely appreciative.

I noticed my transmission is slipping also which is just another thing. Im hoping it doesnt have anything to do with this. Could it be possible im skipping 2nd and going into 3rd, god help me if 4th?

I don't know why this is happening but any help would be amazing.

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. I would run the codes because even without a check engine light it can still have them. also lets check the level and condition of the fluid, please smell the fluid and check the color.

Please run down this guide and report back.

I cant get a video while driving. All my fluids are at the correct level and are in great condition. I do smell oil burning after a drive, and even sometimes during the drive if i gas it to overtake someone. I didn't think this would have anything to do with this problem.

I forgot to check my transmission fluid when i wrote that. I checked it just now and its in "needs changing" condition. I don't see any metal pieces in the fluid and it is at the right level too. I shouldn't have a slipping transmission, but I do.

You could have a pressure control solenoid that is not working right. here is the location, did you get a chance to run the codes? Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

I don't have a code checking machine.

My transmission is slipping incredible hard now. When i put it in drive from park, i have to wait until i hear a *clunk* for me to start driving. If i don't, and push the gas pedal before i hear that, my engine revs but it does not move, and then it slams into gear. I hear a clunk sound ever shift.

Another thing i am noticing now is that my rpm's bounce up and back down when driving. It happened in all four gears. Driving at a steady mph (80 for example) i have always sat at 2200-2300 (i don't know exactly because it only goes up my 500). My rpm's are now bumping up by 100-150 rpm's while driving, and then back down to normal. This happens a lot while driving. It jerks every time the rpm's bump up regardless of the speed i am at or the gear i am in.

I have an 04 impala with loss of power with acceleration. It's not pulling any codes. Recently changed fuel pump was running fine. Gave it the gas and it kept running but it's like it died too.

When you changed the fuel pump did you use an ACDelco unit? I have found aftermarket pump fail quickly. Here is a guide to help us see what is going on:

I have a Chevy Impala 2005, 3.4 engine 6 cyl. The cluster is out in it and recently the temp gauge has been going up. Still dont know if its because cluster is bad. Anyway....car will be running fine and all of a sudden starts losing power. Radiator flushes 6 days ago...thermostat replaced 4 days ago as well as relay switch for fan. Can you possibly offer me reasons why it might lose power based on what I have told you?
