car is making a funny noise

The car is making apoping noise whrn i accelerat but doesnt dp it all the time but now is getting more frequent and ..i thought it might bt need oil but i wasnt for sure it has a carburator on it so i thought it could be the reason but dont wanna mess with anything until i get an guess on what it could be

A popping noise could come from many things. It could be as simple as a vacuum leak and as major as a valve train issue. I hate to say it, but in this case, you need to have someone listen to it that has a trained ear for such issues. Most mechanics can pin point the problem without much problem just by listening to it.
