Hi,
What you described can be the result of a few things. For example, if you have a weak fuel pump, it can cause it. Also, if it is constant, there could be an ignition-related concern. For example, the spark plugs are worn and not properly burning fuel. It may simply need a tune up.
So, I have to ask, is the check engine light coming on while the engine is running? If it does, is the light solid or does it flash? Also, have you had the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes? If you haven't, most parts stores will do it free of charge and it should help point us in the right direction.
Let me know. Also, let me know if there is anything that seems to make it better or worse.
Take care,
Joe
