Don't highly doubt that your 6 month alternator can't be bad. Parts these days are far from perfect I have gotten my fair share of bad ones right out of the box or didn't last long till they failed. If the fuse blew that's usually caused by a alternator failing. Do you have a multi meter to do some testing? Also what size engine do you have?

With the key in the run position engine off you should have battery voltage to all three white wires and the red and white wire?Let me know which one doesn't have power and where that wire goes on the alternator?
