driver side door will not open from the outside

You do not need a new door. Your handle either needs to be replaced or the rod needs to be adjusted. Either way you need to access the door handle to find out what happened. I included the entire procedure. Most of the time the rod just slips and needs to be adjusted. However, if the clip that holds the rod breaks then you need to replace the handle.
