Car cranks but does not start huge list of codes.

The car will crank but does not turn over. The mil light didn't go on but I checked for codes anyway and there were 12 of them.

I have tried to replace the Battery and ran the shifter up and down to possibly unjam a stuck gear. Spark plugs look great. Still have not checked for compression.

those are all transmission codes,the u code is basically a loss of communication code.meaning that one of the modules is not communicating with the others.in your case probably the tcm transmission control module.check all the fuses in both fuse boxes.
