Hi, I recently bought the car listed above new. When I drive the car in 'D' (shifter in 'D'- automatic), the car applies brakes by itself around 30 Mph without me applying the brakes and this happens only when my leg is not on either brake or gas pedal. When I see a stop light ahead, as like most people, I would release the gas pedal and let the car roll by itself until it reaches the stop light and then apply the brakes. But with what is happening on my car now, I cannot do that because when I release the pedal the car moves forward until it reaches around 30 MPH and applies brakes by itself. I could feel that deceleration and it is very uncomfortable for me and that makes me to press the gas pedal and push it forward until stop light. What is this? Is this common on all new cars? I am not driving in manual mode or with the shifter in '+' or'-'. Thank you.

Hello,

It sounds like you have an IPS module that is going out. To be sure lets run the codes to see what codes up. Here is a video that will walk you through the steps along with the ABS wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
