I've changed the transmission filter, fluid and the neutral safety switch. The shift linkage doesn't appear to be the issue, but I could be wrong. any help would be fantastic (Eddie Bauer edition).

I have seen the pressure control solenoid go out which will cause the transmission not to go onto gear. You will need to remove the transmission pan which this guide can show you how and I have left the instructions on how to change it out in the diagrams below.

and

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Hi Ken, thank you for the advice. come to find out it was very low on transmission fluid. But now another issue is at hand; when I do drive it's like something is behind me pulling me back as I accelerate, there isn't any power and it feels very sluggish. I can try to provide a video later today if that would be a better explanation of my issue.

I'm uploading a video ignore the rattling it's a socket set not the car. The car will only go past 2,000 to shift into first gear then from 3,000 it slams into second gear and will not go past 2,000 RPMs, also will not top more than 35 MPH.

This seems like the catalytic converter is clogged. To be sure this guide can help confirm the issue:

Let me know what happens and thanks for the video, it helped. Check out the diagrams (below).
