Car died when stopped at light and now it will not start

Was driving about sixty miles car would not shift. Came to a stop at red light and it died and now wont start.

Need to check all basics first, do you have fuel pressure, spark and injection pulse and I presume that it is cranking on the key?

Hi Tina,
when you crank it over does it sounds the same as it did before it stalled? It could be the timing belt has broken. You can do a compression test or look inside the valve cover to see if the camshafts are turning while the engine is being cranked over.
